Special Commission Meeting / Public Hearing

November 6, 2025 @ 2:00 pm

Pursuant to RCW 53.35.020, the preliminary budget of the Port of Skagit for fiscal year 2026 has been prepared and has been placed on file Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Port office, located in the Administration Building at Skagit Regional Airport, 15400 Airport Drive, Burlington, Washington 98233. A copy can also be obtained on the Port of Skagit website www.portofskagit.com.

 

The Port Commission will conduct a public hearing on the 2026 preliminary budget at a special commission meeting on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., to be held in the Hearing Room at the Port’s Administration Building.  Following the public hearing, the Port Commission expects to fix and adopt the final budget for the Port of Skagit for fiscal year 2026.

At this same time and location, the Port Commission will conduct a public hearing on the adoption of an updated and revised Comprehensive Scheme of Harbor Improvements.

All interested people are invited to attend and provide comment.

Getting to the Airshow:

• Skagit Transit will provide a special Saturday schedule for Route 513 every 30 minutes to get visitors to the airshow. Click HERE for more information!

• Skagit Skies Airshow entrance is located at 15400 Airport Drive, Burlington WA.

• Parking is limited, and is on a first come, first served basis.

• Parking is available throughout the adjacent Bayview Business Park, north of Skagit Regional Airport.

• Please observe No Parking signage in the business park, where applicable, as to not impact parking or access to Port businesses that may be operating.

• Handicap parking is available at the airshow entrance, but is also limited. A passenger drop-off area will be available near the airshow entrance.

• Shuttle bus transportation to the airshow entrance will be operating continuously, looping from show entrance to designated stops within the Bayview Business Park from 8am to 5pm.

* PLEASE NOTE: Crosswind Drive will be completely inaccessible on Friday 6/27 from 2pm–6pm and Saturday 6/28 from 6am–4pm, due to Total Flight Restrictions (TFRs) for in-flight performances during this timeframe. This is a safety measure and there are no exceptions. Any cars parked on Crosswind Drive will not be able to leave and guests will not be able to access their vehicles in this area during this time frame.

Schedule and Brief Details of Seminar:

9:30am Commemorative Air Force activities with extra focus on Rainier Squadron and our local activities. Speaker: Logan Shepard.

10:15am Aircraft pre-purchase by Vertex Aviation Services: Come and learn how we inspect an aircraft before you make your purchase. Speakers Chad Fierle and Brandon Holdeman.

11:00am EAA 818: A conversation of what EAA is and how chapter 818 is making a difference in our aviation community.

4:00pm Dyberg Aviation pilot safety seminar: Flying the San Juans. A outline of safety features to be aware of while flying the islands and some lingo to learn of landmarks commonly used by the local island pilots. (This seminar will count as a Wings Credit for those in the FAA Safety program.)

Vertex will also have Cleancraft Detailing demonstrating their services on an aircraft in their shop.

An Event Supporting the Children’s Museum of Skagit County

Get your tickets for an amazing and unique event that will kick-off the Skagit Skies Airshow on Friday night. Enjoy an evening of tasty bites, thirst-quenching drinks, a bit of flying, meeting airshow performers, fun STEAM activities & a balsa glider competition — all to benefit the new aviation exhibit at the Children’s Museum of Skagit County!

Join the Skagit Skies Airshow performers, catch a US Army Golden Knights Parachute Team jump to kick-off the event, and admire Skagit Regional Airport in the evening while supporting a new, amazing, interactive exhibit at the Children’s Museum.

This is a 21+ event hosted by the Children’s Museum of Skagit County, in partnership with Corporate Air Center and the Port of Skagit. Tickets include two drink tickets per person and a feast of tasty bites.

Arriving Aircraft Information: CTAF 123.075; GROUND 125.325

PLEASE NOTE: TFR’s will be in effect Friday, June 27 from 1500—1745 and Saturday, June 28 from 1130 to 1600.

RWY 04-22 will be CLOSED starting June 27 at 1200, and will reopen June 29 at 1200

Arrival Procedures:

  • CTAF monitored by Airshow staff; transfer to Ground when directed.
  • Notify intent: camping or transient
  • Limited transient parking on 11-29 apron; once full, you will be marshalled to Crosswind transient and camping area, as follows:
  • Taxi via A to A1 (approach end 29)
  • Taxi via A1 to B
  • Taxi via B to B1 (approach end 22)
  • Taxi via RWY 22 to designated area at Marshal’s directions

Departure Procedures:

  • Only allowed after TFR is removed.
  • Advise Marshal of engine start.
  • Depending on transient parking location, Marshal will signal you to appropriate departure route
  • Crosswind transient and camping aircraft will depart at Marshal’s direction via TXWY C
  • TXWY C to THRSHLD 11, departure via 11 or 29 via TXWY A, dependent on active runway.

“Camping Under the Wing” Information

Important Information and Details:

  • EAA 818 Pancake breakfast will be served Saturday and Sunday from 0700-1000.
  • Transportation from Crosswind Drive is provided on a first come, first serve basis, and is shared with all airshow guests.
  • The Saturday shuttle bus to the airshow entrance will run from 8am to 5pm* on Saturday, June 28th, except during TFR (Total Flight Restriction) times noted below. Bus pick-up area is shown on the map.​
  • Please note: TFR’s will be in effect Friday, June 27 from 1500—1745 and Saturday, June 28 from 1130 to 1600, *during which times the Saturday shuttle bus will not be operating through the red box. (Click above for map and rules)
  • There is a walking/biking trail to the airshow entrance, and it is approximately a 15-minute walk. This trail will NOT be available to use during TFR’s (days and times noted above).
  • Restrooms and potable water will be available near the camping area.​
  • There will be no show features on the south-side show line (noted in red on the map), so it is strongly encouraged that you leave the camping/transient area well before the TFR goes active, due to aerobatic showbox regulations. No vehicles or persons will be allowed in or through the red box during the TFR’s. ​
