Fir Island
The Port of Skagit was awarded $2.15M from the state Public Works Board to construct broadband infrastructure to portions of Fir Island. This project will include approximately 170 passings, or connectivity locations. Design and permitting of this project is complete and the project has gone out to bid. Construction is anticipated in summer 2025, subject to materials availability.

Bow Outlying Area
The Port of Skagit was awarded $8.05M from the Washington State Broadband Office, and $800,000 in matching funds from Skagit County to construct broadband infrastructure in the outlying area of Bow, near Colony Mountain. This project will includes approximately 630 passings, or connectivity locations. Design and permitting are in process and the project is expected to go out to bid in March 2025. Construction is anticipated in fall 2025, subject to materials availability.
